MPCE have a well-established Nuclear Medicine Physics service providing Medical Physics Expert advice (MPE), Radioactive Waste Advisor (RWA) services and Quality Assurance of SPECT and PET to NHS and private hospitals in the UK since 1990.

Medical Physics Expert (MPE) Advice
Annual MPE audit with report | Advisor on compliance with IR[ME]R 2017 | Signatory on ARSAC Employer licence applications | Advisor on optimisation and quality assurance | Advisor on dosimetry and radiation protection equipment | Nuclear Medicine equipment management | Liaison with RPA and RWA | Support at local radiation committee meetings | Support during inspections from UK agencies
Medical Physics Support
Acceptance of testing and QA of Nuclear Medicine and PET equipment | Advice on scientific and technical aspects of Nuclear Medicine and PET procedures | Assistance in the provision of protocols and procedures | Support (with the Radiation Waste Advisor and Superintendent) in compliance with Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR)
Regulations and Guidelines
Nuclear Medicine Physics support is delivered at healthcare organisation host sites to ensure local work is performed in compliance with the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) Regulations IR(ME)R 2017.
